Keshni Morar, spent over 20 years as highly qualified high-flyer in the corporate sector before she went into the business of retail and learned from personal experience how one’s choice of workwear had a direct impact on one’s potential to rise up the corporate ladder. It was only when the penny dropped that if she wanted to be properly recognised, she would have to dress the part, that her career really took off.
Her own application of this knowledge served her well and she and led to informal requests from colleagues to teach them to do the same. Ultimately, it led to a career change, which has involved completing an image consulting course and interning at one of South Africa’s leading designers, and the launch of Styld.
Styld is changing the lives of men and women by helping them make the right fashion and beauty choices for their personality, lifestyle, body type and colouring, boosting confidence and helping them to make a statement wherever they are. A growing number of professional businessmen and women and other professionals come to her for seasoned advice on how to enhance their image, often with life-changing results.
Her HEMISA range of luxurious suits and other formal corporate wear is inspired by international trends and styles. It is locally made, from high quality imported fabrics which are difficult to find in South Africa.
She is also one of only a handful of personal brand experts in South Africa and coaches people on all the elements involved in becoming viewed as an impressive person of integrity, reliability and trustworthiness.
Keshni is passionate about supporting and growing the South African clothing industry, both in terms of supporting local designers and mobilising to ensure that clothing factories employ fair labour practices.
With 20+ years’ experience in delivering business value, increasing revenue contribution through business development initiatives & developing cost reduction strategies for multinational enterprises, Keshni Morar has led the implementation of >200 integration projects with budgets from R50K to R60M with cross-functional teams of up to 150 people to deliver enterprise-wide solutions.
Keshni takes a vision and makes it reality through sound strategy development and systematic implementation. She intuitively sees the threads of opportunity that wind through an organization, brings them together into a coherent whole, helps others extend their thinking, and drives material business advantage. She is an inspirational leader who inspires action and is respected as a credible voice in decision making, finding strategic financing partners, and establishing governance boundaries, Keshni earns a seat at the table wherever she serves.
Her last corporate role was with SA’s largest telco, Vodacom, executing on mergers & acquisitions deals of up to R34.5bn, exploring expansion opportunities the African continent. In September 2017, she exited corporate to focus her efforts on a retail tech start-up (styld.co.za) founded by herself, focused on changing the way South Africans shop for clothing. In 2019, she designed and launched the luxury clothing brand for women, HEMISA.
Keshni holds an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, BComm and BComm Honours degrees from the University of South Africa. Amongst her impressive list of degrees, she is also a qualified Image Consultant.
